Brief description of the Unit

This unit introduces advanced condition monitoring methods used in engineering asset management. Students will examine visual inspection and non-destructive testing techniques, lubricant contamination and wear debris analysis, electrical machine monitoring, vibration analysis, and fault diagnosis approaches for evaluating system and component condition. This is a core unit for students seeking practical knowledge in condition monitoring and asset management.

4. Performance analysis of assets.

5. Vibration analysis.

6. Data collection and analysis of vibration phase angle.

7. Developing and implementing a condition monitoring program.

Graduate Attributes:
Federation University recognises that students require key transferable employability skills to prepare them for their future workplace and society. FEDTASKS (Transferable Attributes Skills and Knowledge) provide a targeted focus on five key transferable Attributes, Skills, and Knowledge that are be embedded within curriculum, developed gradually towards successful measures and interlinked with cross-discipline and Co-operative Learning opportunities. One or more FEDTASK, transferable Attributes, Skills or Knowledge must be evident in the specified learning outcomes and assessment for each FedUni Unit, and all must be directly assessed in each Course.
