Brief description of the Unit |
The unit introduces students to commercial law. By understanding various commercial law topic areas, students will learn to manage business risk and develop the skills to apply legal concepts to practical situations through legal writing and legal problem-solving. The unit covers the following topics: the Australian legal system, contract law, agency law, tort law, business structures, and the regulatory environment for business professionals. Students will examine the substantive law applicable to the topics mentioned, and apply legal problem-solving and legal writing skills in assessments based on problem scenarios and essays to demonstrate an understanding of the relevant content. |
