Brief description of the Unit

In this unit, students will investigate and formulate approaches to the art of stage management, inclusive of intimacy protocols. They will learn to appraise the production planning process from the stage management perspective. Students will develop skills in rehearsal management, scheduling and reporting.

Unit Content:

In this unit, students will investigate and appraise fundamental approaches to the art of stage management, inclusive of intimacy protocols. They will formulate an effective stategy for  the production planning process from the stage management perspective, such as the nature of working backstage, generating a rehearsal schedule and supporting the creative team. Topics may include:  Working with actors and the creative team Intimacy guidelines  Scheduling  Running the rehearsal room
