Brief description of the Unit |
This unit supports a 15 day professional experience. During the placement, students will continue to develop skills and knowledge aligned with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST) through authentic, practical experiences under the guidance of qualified mentors. This placement will be completed in an education setting relevant to the specific student’s course of study. This unit is part of the Bachelor of Secondary Education courses. Throughout the placement, PSTs are required to complete designated professional learning activities in collaboration with their assigned mentors. |

This is a professional experience placement in an education setting in which all learning and assessment takes place in that setting. . The compulsory preparatory tutorials which precede placement are structured within the theme of ‘Action’ include as focus areas: • Administration • Self-care strategies Teaching a sequence • Assessment For/As/Of learning • Teaching as a communal/collegiate activity |
