Brief description of the Unit |
The Academic and Communication Skills B course is the continuation of using Australian English to meet the demands of further academic study. The course aims to extend the students’ knowledge, skills and application learnt in Academic and Communication Skills A. Students will be assessed on their ability to apply their skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking and their application to various academic assessment types. The key focus of this course is the application of academic writing techniques to various forms of academic assessment.

- Global contexts, social progress and industry needs of higher learning
- Structure of higher education institutions and expectations of course administrators, academics, tutors, and peers, subject specific orientations and discourse areas
- Presentations, and activities to promote early engagement in higher learning contexts
