Brief description of the Unit |
This unit provides the candidate an opportunity to draw upon themes arising through the coursework elements of this program and to pursue a particular problem or question for research. The research thesis is completed under the supervision of an academic staff member from the relevant discipline area. The final thesis will embody a substantial piece of competent research of a standard that would be publishable in a reputable academic journal or comparable publication. |

Topics may include: The conduct of ethical research Becoming an independent researcher accountability & autonomy Synthesis of a critical review of the relevant literature that provides a basis for research questions Sound research methodology that is theoretically consistent with the research questions Interpretation of research results and the drawing of conclusions Developing and maintaining a collaborative relationship with a supervisor Developing high level academic written expression of a standard that would be publishable in a reputable academic journal or comparable publication |
