Brief description of the Unit

In this capstone project-based unit students are provided with an opportunity to design and implement a project that supports the development of advanced level leadership, scholarly inquiry, project management and communication skills. Students will develop an integrated project to demonstrate their understanding and application of advanced levels of management and leadership concepts and evidence-based practice in health. Students will work with an allocated supervisor who will offer guidance throughout the duration of the investigation. Students will have established timeframes and deliverables across the semester to support the production of project report at the conclusion of the unit.

Create a business case for a work integrated project that identifies, analyses and proposes change that is aligned to operational strategy and supported by scholarly evidence.

Design a work integrated project implementation plan that addresses accountabilities, timeframes, ethical standards, strategies, tools, constraints and contingencies.

Execute an evidence-based work integrated project.

Evaluate findings of the project and produce a formal evidence-based report, aimed at an executive level audience (e.g. senior management or board level).
