Brief description of the Unit |
This is the first course in a two-part Honours Professional Project course chain. In this course, students will work in small, self-directed groups towards completion of a project relevant to a contemporary speech pathologist’s practice issue on a health-related topic. Students will be required to demonstrate skills in leadership, planning and teamworking in order to effectively plan and undertake various project activities. Students will present their project implementation plan and framework in both written and oral formats and be required to respond to questions. Students will also be required to critically reflect on their performance (as individuals and a team) in undertaking the project and discuss their learning from engagement in the project as a whole |

Professional Standards for Speech Pathologist in Australia (2020), Speech Pathology Guidelines for Reporting of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Curriculum Development and Inclusions (2018), FedUni STRETCH Reconciliation Action Plan (2019-2022), National Quality and Safeguarding Framework (NQSF, 2018), National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards (2017-2019) and National Aged Care Quality Standards (2019) have substantially informed the syllabus/content of this course.
