Brief description of the Unit |
The focus of this unit is to introduce students to basic accounting and financial management concepts which will be set into the context of the sports industry. This unit is designed to allow students to develop skills necessary to be able to interpret and use financial information to inform decision making in sport organisations. There is an emphasis on why finance matters to sport, and the different models for sport illustrated by a range of sporting examples. There will be exploration of the major financial issues and challenges facing international and national sport federations. |
