Brief description of the Unit |
This course enables students to be self-directed in exploring issues relevant to contemporary physiotherapy practice. The changes and challenges facing physiotherapists will be explored with topics relevant to current clinical and professional practice. In addition, students will demonstrate their organisational skills through participating in the planning and development of the Physiotherapy Student Conference. |

Unit Content: |
This course is a capstone course allowing you to choose a contemporary issue that is of interest to you. The aim is for you to demonstrate your ability to identify a relevant topic that is likely to be underexplored. You will then demonstrate skills in searching for relevant literature, synthesising this literature and making recommendations on future research and clinical practice. As well, this course requires you to demonstrate effective teamwork skills to organise and run a successful conference demonstrating advance skills in communication, organisation, leadership and management. Including: Group conferences Start identifying topic/ Start group meetings Written proposal Undertake literature search Group contract due Identify themes Read identified articles Draft written paper completed Draft oral presentation completed |
