Brief description of the Unit |
This unit provides a comprehensive introduction to psychological assessment. Students will become familiar with the theoretical and empirical foundations of psychological assessment. Students will develop competency in the administration of commonly used psychological tests, including tests of intelligence. Students will develop skills in the critical evaluation and interpretation of test data. Students will develop competency in integrating testing and assessment data into clinically useful reports. Ethical, cultural and professional issues in psychological assessment will be discussed. |

• Technical, methodological and ethical principles in the use and interpretation of psychological tests and test scores • Issues of measurement: norms, reliability, validity, and item analysis • Administration, scoring, interpretation, profile analysis of intelligence tests • Psychoeducational and behavioural assessment of children and families • Writing integrated clinical assessment reports |
