Brief description of the Unit

On completion of this unit, students will produce a journal article consisting of an extended literature review that leads to testable hypotheses, and method, results and discussion sections that conform to APA format in both content and style. Students will interpret the Results of their research project in line with the Analysis Plan developed in PSYCM 7121 Advanced Clinical Research Methods and in the context of the research aims and hypotheses developed in PSYCM7020, Psychological Research in Practice and with consideration of the broader psychological literature and innovations in the field. Students will present the findings of their research in a formal conference-style presentation.

Unit Content:

The student will interpret the results of their research project in relation to their research aims and hypotheses, and in relation to the broader body of knowledge on the chosen topic.

Students will absorb and integrate the results of their research project in the form of a Discussion, which will be elaborated in an oral presentation.

Students will present the literature review, methods, results and discussion of the research project in the form of an APA formatted journal article.
