| Brief description of the Unit |
This unit provides an understanding of human behaviour, with a neurological focus on topics including the nervous system, sensation and perception, intelligence, learning, memory and cognition. The relevance of these concepts will be explored by demonstrating their application to health-related behaviour. The unit also holds to the goals of psychology as a science: to describe, understand, predict, and influence our own behaviour and that of others. It also provides a solid grounding for any further study in psychology, the social sciences or other areas that relate to health behaviours. |
