Unit Content: |
The unit is dedicated to the process of producing a literature review of the student`s chosen research area for their honours program. The purpose of the literature review is to provide the background information needed to understand the chosen honours research project. Through the review, students will assure their assessors that they are familiar with the important research and literature in their field. It is expected that the review will demonstrate comprehensive coverage of the appropriate literature, and will provide some degree of critical appraisal. It should be presented in a clear, coherent and logical structure, and should provide appropriate context for the literature and theories that are reviewed. Preparing a literature review is an important component of the honours program, and can assist students to produce a well-organised thesis with a clear conceptual framework. •The literature review will be an individual study under the guidance of the supervisor(s) of the research, focussing on the student`s honours research topic. |
Graduate Attributes: |
Federation University recognises that students require key transferable employability skills to prepare them for their future workplace and society. FEDTASKS (Transferable Attributes Skills and Knowledge) provide a targeted focus on five key transferable Attributes, Skills, and Knowledge that are be embedded within curriculum, developed gradually towards successful measures and interlinked with cross-discipline and Co-operative Learning opportunities. One or more FEDTASK, transferable Attributes, Skills or Knowledge must be evident in the specified learning outcomes and assessment for each FedUni Unit, and all must be directly assessed in each Course.
