Brief description of the Unit |
This unit is designed to provide students with an in-depth exploration of the sport, physical and outdoor education sectors. Students will engage in learning activities designed to enhance their understanding of the skills, standards and qualifications required in the sport, physical and outdoor education sectors. Building on this understanding, students will be challenged to think critically about their own professional skills within a selected focus area and identify areas for further development. Students will practically apply this knowledge by developing an individualised resume, detailed logbooks of work experiences, and participating in mock interviews. In this unit, students undertake 20 days of placement. Through analysis of placement experiences, students will examine key elements of a selected focus area, including program delivery, learning outcomes, program philosophy, regulatory standards, and sector-specific qualifications. This unit emphasizes critical self-assessment, effective communication, and evidence-based reporting, aiming to prepare students for successful careers in the sport, health, physical education and outdoor education sectors. |
